Motorola Moto G2 In-dept Review

Motorola Moto G2

After a long time when Motorola (the first mobile phone maker) entered Indian market, they entered with a bang. By introducing their first Smartphone running on Android OS viz. Moto G.
But this was just a beginning for Motorola. They were bought by Google and they were happily selling their Moto G Smartphone’s in India. But latter on they left Google and Lenovo bought them. Currently Lenovo owes Motorola.

As I said this was not end for Motorola, so again, after almost a year Motorola India bought its next generation Smartphone viz. Moto G2. And I too bought this Smartphone and also using it currently. So guys, today I am going to review Moto G2.

Below at the end of this review you will get to see the pros and cons of the Smartphone. If you find the cons in this Smartphone do not affect you then you can go ahead and buy the same for you.

Performance:
If we talk about the performance of this phone, then it’s quit impressive, Graphics intensive games are also handled by this phone very well. Don’t expect performance of this phone like that of flagship phones. But it gets the work done. And due to its 5 inch large display with 720p resolution, games as well as watching videos on it look brilliant. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protector also protects the phone from minor scratches. The touch response from the screen is also good. That helps you to better edit your photos very nicely.

The 1 GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad core processor works well. And the user interface is almost like stock Android, except some Motorola apps like moto migrate, moto assist and so on.

Camera:
If we talk about camera it has excellent 8MP camera with LED flash at the rear and a front facing camera of 2MP without flash.  Both the camera’s are not that great but it gets the work done. Its also supports slow motion video capture and also has panorama feature in it.

Storage:
Storage is not an issue in this phone because it has internal memory of 16GB of which you get 12GB user memory, which can be expanded with the help of Micro SD card of up to 32 GB’s

Battery and Connectivity:
Connectivity features like 3G, wifi, GPS navigation, Glonass, Bluetooth, & hotspot works well in this phone. I never had any problem while using them. The battery provided here is 2070 mAh, which can last you up for a day for moderate user.

Finally I am coming with the pros and cons with this phone:

Pros:
·         Decent overall package
·         OTG support
·         Large 5 inch display
·         Almost stock android like
·         Earphone jack sounds well
·         No lags
·         Generally latest Android update comes to Motorola devices
·         Front firing speaker are good, they are loud enough to hear.

Cons:
·         Low RAM affects multi tasking, if we compare it with other latest smart phones which comes with 2 or more GB RAM at same price point or lower.
·         Sometimes apps close automatically due to low RAM
·         Some games tend to lag at high resolution due to 1GB RAM
·         Sometimes gets little warm (don’t get me wrong it’s not that hot, that it gets unbearable)
·         Screen has a warm tone
·         Camera performance is average

Final verdict:
If the above cons do not bother you, then you can definitely go and buy this phone. Current Flipkart is also selling the 4G variant of Moto G2 at Rs 8999/-. And at this price point it great value for money Smartphone.

Overall a good package for that price.
